Regional Plans of Forest Development
We will suggest a simplified version of the Czech Regional Plans of Forest Development.
Within the framework of this activity, together with FRDC and GIZ, we will analyze background materials for procession of Forest Management Plans. Mongolian forest typology system will be checked as a fundament for production assessment and sustainable development of forests. Necessary available remote sensing sources will be used.
We will assess natural conditions and create a proposal of a typological classification system of forests. For that task, we will explore and sample forest complexes in suggested model areas of province Darkhan Uul, Selenge and possibly in Khovsgol and Akhhangai. We will sample tree and vascular plant vegetation, soils, and fire history of selected forest transects.
Field works will also include additional expertise in order to assess functional potential of forest ecosystems, declared functions (societal interest), disturbance risks and forest road system.
Beside text and table outputs, we will produce special map work for selected localities.
